Spain To Roll Out HIV Quick Tests To Pharmacies

The quick test for the HIV virus arrives in Spanish pharmacies next month as part of a pilot scheme in the Basque Country and Cataluña. 20 pharmacies will take part in each region, with the plan to extend the measure across the country.

The test needs only a drop of blood and gives results in 15 minutes, although positive results should be ratified with the normal test at a health center. The pharmacies taking part will have a special room for the procedure which will be carried out by the pharmacist.

It places Spain as a pioneer in the initiative of making the test more easily available.Source typicallyspanish.com
